Web of Deceit

Michael, a journalist, met Rachel and Caroline in a shadowy café.

“This is risky,” Rachel whispered, sliding a folder across the table.

Caroline, nodded. “They’ll do anything to keep this hidden.”

Michael opened the folder. His heart raced as he looked at the massive controversy held within its pages.

Rachel glanced around. “We have to act now.”

Michael nodded. “The world needs to know.”

As they parted, Rachel handed him a flash drive. "What's this?" he asked.

"Proof of your betrayal," she whispered, smiling.

Michael's blood ran cold as he realized he'd been the unwitting pawn in a deadly game.

PS: I am participating in the #30days30stories challenge and today is Day 11. This amazing challenge is being hosted by Dagny and Nirja.
