The Reversal
"Close your eyes," she murmured, the cold metal pressed to my head. "It'll be easier if you don't see it coming."
I felt the muzzle dig in and knew it was now or never. "You don't have to do this," I said, gauging her next move.
She hesitated. "Orders are orders."
In that split second, my training kicked in. With a swift move, I twisted her wrist, disarming her. Shock crossed her face as I turned the gun on her.
"Who sent you?" I demanded.
Her eyes widened in fear. "You don't understand. It's bigger than us."
"Then tell me," I said, ready for the next challenge.
