Shredded Truth
Sarah's hands trembled as she held the envelope. Inside lay irrefutable evidence of her client's guilt – surveillance footage of him committing the murder he'd sworn he didn't do.
"Are you sure you want this?" Detective Chen had whispered, sliding it across the table.
Now, alone in her office at midnight, she stares at the shredder. The prosecution's case is weak. They'll never convict.
She feeds the envelope through, watching it disappear.
Tomorrow, she'll defend him passionately.
After all, he wasn't her first guilty client.
Or her first victim.
PS: I am participating in the #30days30stories challenge and today is Day 22. This amazing challenge is being hosted by Dagny and Nirja.
